SPASH Splits two games today -- loses to Hortonville 2-0 and beats Chippewa Falls 5-3

Hortonville's Meshnik twirls no-hitter at SPASH who had five errors

SPASH scored one in the third, two in the fourth and single runs in the fifth and sixth innings to take down Chippewa Falls. Jaslyn Slowinski fanned 11 andallowed three runs but surrendered nine hits. Aldrich for Chi-Hi also allowed nine hits, struck out four and walked none. Leading hitters for SPASH were Eilers with a 2x3 game, Hoerter went 2x3 and Fink was 2x2. Eliers had two doubles while Fink had one. O'Neal homered for the winners. CHI-Hi leading hitters were Bauer at 2x3 and Olson 2x4 with a two-bagger. 

Hortonville scored one in the top of the first and the second one in the top of the seventh to get the shuout victory,, Meshnik walked one and faced just 22 batters. She was the only player to collect more than one hit as she went 2x4 in the #3 spot in the Polar Bears' lineup. The loser was Sauvageau.

    • Panthers was victorious over Chippewa Falls, 5-3
    • Panthers knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the third inning. Jenna Eilers drove in one when Eilers doubled.
    • After Chippewa Falls scored one run in the top of the sixth, Panthers answered with one of their own. Chippewa Falls scored when Kenna Johnston singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.
    • Panthers pulled away for good with two runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Kyla O'Neal homered on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.
    • Jaelyn Slowinski led the Panthers to victory on the rubber. The pitcher lasted seven innings, allowing nine hits and three runs while striking out 11.
    • Hannah Aldrich took the loss for Chippewa Falls. The bulldog surrendered five runs on nine hits over six innings, striking out four and walking zero.
    • Panthers socked one home run on the day. O'Neal had a homer in the fourth inning.
    • Panthers racked up nine hits in the game. EilersZoey Fink, and Jenna Hoerter all collected multiple hits for PanthersHoerterFink, and Eilers each collected two hits to lead Panthers.
    • Chippewa Falls totaled nine hits in the game. Basia OlsonJohnston, and Madison Bauer each managed multiple hits for Chippewa Falls. Chippewa Falls was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Paige Steinmetz had the most chances in the field with five.
  • Panthers Can't Catch Up To Hortonville
  • Panthers fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 2-0 loss to Hortonville on Saturday. Hortonville took the lead on a single in the first inning.
  • The pitching was strong on both sides. Hortonville pitchers struck out 13, while Panthers sat down two.
  • Hortonville fired up the offense in the first inning, when Meshnik singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
  • Meshnik took the win for Hortonville. Meshnik allowed zero hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out 13 and walking one.
  • Maren Sauvageau took the loss for Panthers. The righthander surrendered two runs on four hits over six and a third innings, striking out two.
  • Meshnik went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Hortonville in hits.
