Union Grove nips Oak Creek 2-1 on a pair of unearned runs

Late Score Costs Oak Creek Against Union Grove

Oak Creek lost the lead late in a 2-1 defeat to Union Grove on Wednesday.  The game was tied at one with Union Grove batting in the top of the eighth when an error scored one run for Union Grove.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Union Grove pitcher Angela Slattery struck out four, while Oak Creek’s Riley Grudzielanek sat down 16.

Oak Creek got on the board in the second inning when Maddy Demski singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.

Union Grove knotted the game up at one in the top of the sixth inning.  Grudzielanek threw a wild pitch allowing one run across the plate for Union Grove.

Amber Behr, Demski, Hailey Jibben, and Sierra Kilbourn each collected one hit to lead Oak Creek.

Next up for Oak Creek is a battle with conference rival Kenosha Bradford this Thursday at Bradford
