Matt Havlovitz takes over

Leila is a returning All Conference Selection in 2019

Conference: CWC South
WIAA Division: 4
Head Coach: Matt Havlovitz - First Year
Assistant Coach: Logan Erickson : Caroline Ogden

Wild Rose is picking up after a year off due to COVID-19 and after an 8-15 season in 2019. Matt Havlovitz began the process and is looking for daily improvement and feels they will make progress as they have great leadership and are willing to work.

Who do you see as the strongest Conference Contenders?  Pacelli, Tri-County & Almond are always going to be in consideration with the great programs they have put together.  The conference is a tough conference and typically represents well in the State Tournament, and those schools have proven track records that have earned the respect of the conference.  The rest of the conference can compete in any game as well.  Should be a fun season.

What schools do you see as the top teams in your sectional?  Without a 2020 season it is a guessing game and we will have to see how things shake out. There are some very talented players and very good teams.

List any Returning All Conference players on your team and their positions and some stats:   Leila Delrow is our lone returning AC player.  Leila started her frosh year at Catcher and was named Honorable Mention.  Leila is a complete player who is looking to shake the rust off and pick up where she left off.  Leila is good at the plate and will be counted on to be one of the leaders on our team.

Other notable key players:  Lily Erdman is a junior who looks to prove herself at 3rd base and pitcher, Lily is a great leader and will be counted on to help bring a young team along.  Aleyna Rosenow is a junior who got time as a frosh. Aleyna can hit the ball well and will be counted on to hold down the middle of our defense.  Orriah Wood is a junior coming over from track who will contribute at SS and Pitcher for us and will be one of our leading hitters, she is a smart athletic player who will help solidify our defense.  Josie Worthen is a Junior who has a great glove as well as a quick bat and will set the tone in the outfield.  Laney Havlovitz is our lone sophomore, she will take the bulk of our pitching duties and looks to prove herself at the plate.  We are a young team that has a number of solid players looking to step up and prove themselves.

Your team’s Strengths and things to work:  As a young inexperienced team we have a lot to figure out and a lot to learn, however the strength of this team is that we have great leaders and overall a great bunch of ladies to work with.  The girls are engaged at practice and they know how to roll up their sleeves and work.  As coaches we feel like we have the team's full attention, we don't have to fight for it.  The girls support each other and help each other out.  I am excited to see us grow as the season progresses.
