Westosha Central opened the 2019 season with solid pitching and a 19-hit attack to defeat Lake Geneva Badger 19-0 in 5 innings. Olivia Kazumura earned her first victory of the season with a perfect game effort. She faced 15 batters, striking out 12 in a dominant performance. "Olivia did a great job of challenging their hitters. She got better as the game went on". (co-head coach Tom Lampe) Kazumura led the Falcon offense as well gaining 4 hits (3 doubles and a home run for 6 RBIs). But on offense she was not alone. Ellie Witt's debut on varsity had her going 2 for 2 with 2 home runs to center field. She added 4 RBIs. Jillian Adams added another home run and 4 RBIs to the offense. Several others had multiple hits including Carly Vogelsang, Olivia Nahorniak, Dana Herman and Becca Edwards. Overall 11 Falcons had hits on the day. "It was a great start, especially when you factor in the weather. If we can continue the quality at bats we had today, we will be fine." (co-head coach Tom Lampe) With the win the Falcons jump out to a 1-0 start. They are back in action tomorrow when they host Wilmot at 4:30.
